Young Women Lead

Young Women Lead began in 2017 as a leadership programme for women and non-binary people aged 16–30 years old. It provides participants with a unique and exciting safe space to share their experiences and work together to create real tangible change for young women in Scotland. This evaluation report looks at young women’s experiences across Young Women Lead cohorts from 2017–2023 in order to develop the programme for future participants.

2023–2024 was a year marked by deep reflection and transformative learning for The Young Women’s Movement. We have been fortifying our internal structures, re-structuring our staff team; re-contemporising our brand; re-locating from our Glasgow Centre and re-focusing our strategic priorities. The work of the past year has been intentional to lay a resilient foundation for sustainable impact and future growth.

The Rise Report

In May 2021, the Young Women’s Movement collaborated with Scottish Women’s Aid and recruited 10 women between 16 and 25 years old from all over Scotland to create an advisory panel and lead work to understand the views of young women in Scotland around what a healthy relationship looks like, and what domestic abuse is.
