Jules has been involved in environmental projects since primary school.
She first became part of The Green Team at the age of 7 when she joined a summer holiday programme which nurtured her love of nature. When she was 10 years old she joined the youth panel where she participated in discussions, fundraisers and contributing new ideas to help grow the Green Team.
At the age of 12 she joined the Green Team girls only programme Skylarks where she regularly participated in environmental activities including clearing invasive species, planting trees and laying woodland paths. Julianne is now an adult volunteer with the Green Team supporting children and young people to engage with nature.
Recognising the need for opportunities for neurodiverse children and young people, she developed, secured funding for, and now helps to deliver a programme of outdoor learning for neurodiverse children and young people. Jules has both ADHD and autism so she knows how difficult it can be for neurodiverse children to fit in and join in with different school activities and outdoor programmes.
The programme she developed, Neurospicy, which launched in 2025, helped provide a safe and reliable space with a set programme with accessible activities for neurodiverse people to enjoy themselves.
In addition to her environmental volunteering, Jules has spent time in Canada working with children with disabilities and additional helping them spend time in nature.
Jules wants all young people to be able to enjoy the outdoors, learn about their environment and have fun in nature.
