Henna workshop
Henna workshop
- For young women and girls
- Upcoming
Join us for a henna workshop, in partnership with former Young Women Leader, Zianib, and Creative Scotland.
You’ll learn about the history of henna, see a live demonstration and learn how to use henna cones and create your own designs.
This event is open to all young women and girls, including transgender women, and non-binary people who feel comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of young women and girls, aged 18–30 years old.
There is a budget for reasonable travel expenses to support attendance, please get in touch to discuss this.
Whether you’ve been part of our movement before or if you’re just hearing of us for the first time, we’d love to see you there.

About Zianib
My name is Zianib and I’m a 25-year-old self-taught henna artist based in Glasgow Southside. My passion for henna stems from my Pakistani heritage, a connection I’ve cherished since childhood.
In 2021, I discovered henna as a beautiful way to connect with people through this art form. It creates a relaxing atmosphere for chatting while I create artistic designs on people’s hands. Over the past few years, I’ve organised a few henna art events teaching others how to do henna and participated in local community events and believe I can use this art form to foster even more community connections. Henna is a longstanding tradition in South Asian culture, often applied during celebrations, religious and cultural events leaving a temporary red/brown stain on the skin.
