We’re The Young Women’s Movement, Scotland’s national organisation for young women and girls’ rights, and we’ve been making change for 100 years.
Join award-winning writer Nadine Aisha Jassat for an engaging creative writing workshop as part of Book Week Scotland. We’ll be exploring this year’s theme of friendship, and thinking about how we’d reimagine Scotland for young women and girls – the Scotland we’d like to live in, and the communities and friendships that are intrinsic to social change.
This workshop is open to experienced writers and those completely new to creative writing alike. Come along and have fun in a warm and welcoming environment trying out creative writing prompts inspired by friendship.
This event is designed for 16-30 year old young women (including trans women) and non-binary people who feel comfortable in a space that centres the experience of young women. Reasonable expenses supporting your attendance (such as travel) will be covered, and food will be provided.
Whether you’ve been part of our movement before or if you’re just hearing of us for the first time, we’d love to see you there.
