A young woman smiles at the camera, against an ornate indoor background. She has curly auburn hair and is wearing a white lacy top.

Wiktoria is an intersectional feminist who ensures that the voices of young women are heard, respected and listened to. She strongly believes in the empowerment of women in her community.

Born in Poland, Wiktoria moved to Scotland in 2010 with little to no English. She dedicated her time and energy to volunteering for young people’s voices since she was 15 across the third sector; implementing change and striving for a better Scotland to grow up in.

Wiktoria’s work in the third sector reached far and wide, and she became a member of the Scottish Youth Parliament, bringing her passion for mental health and art into her campaign work. Working her way up, she was elected as a Trustee of SYP and used her voice during climate discussions during COP26 where she reported back to the Scottish Parliament on a Scotland-wide campaign to ensure children and young people are heard on the topics of climate crisis.

On top of her role within SYP, Wiktoria studied at Edinburgh Napier University to gain a Journalism Honours Degree, during which she had started her own project called She/Her Empowerment. This is a space for women and girls to speak about the things that make them empowered. It turned into a podcast and a magazine.

In 2022, she joined the Young Women’s Movement Advisory Collective, taking on countless opportunities within the organisation such as her contribution to Young Women Work as well as the Status of Young Women in Scotland report. She has led countless events and workshops, contributed to work in areas including abortion, sexual health and employment. Her continued contribution has also led her to becoming a member of the Nominations Committee within the European YWCA, where she continues to bring inclusive, intersectional and feminist change both nationally, but now also internationally.
