Khadea is an artist, arts educator, and curator who aims to foster an open and collaborative practice where everyone has access to creative opportunities, their work is seen and valued, and they gain confidence through transformative experiences.

Born in The Gambia and inspired by her connections to the Global South, her work explores themes of spiritualism, diaspora, memory, and identity through film, ceramics, and writing. Khadea has developed an approach to engaging people with contemporary art that emphasizes inclusivity and collaboration.

She has successfully connected art organisations with the interests of young people, exemplified by her project, the Youth Arts Takeover at the Fruitmarket in Edinburgh. This initiative led to the Fruitmarket expanding its networks and working with more young artists and performers of color.

Recently, she graduated with an MFA in Curatorial Practice from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. Her dream is to promote healing and well-being through creativity and to become a community arts coordinator.
