Revati is the current Convener of the Scottish Youth Parliament’s Equalities and Human Rights Committee. Revati is also a current member of YWCA Scotland’s Young Women Lead programme for its third year running. She is currently studying Scots Law at the University of Glasgow. Outside of work, Revati is a song and poetry writer.

Revati is the youngest member of the First Minister’s National Advisory Council on Women and Girls. The advisory council acts as a catalyst for change by providing a challenging voice to the First Minister. She is a part of their work on their current annual topic ‘Exploring an Intersectional Gender Architecture’.

In her multiple roles, she takes an intersectional approach to inequalities issues, incorporating her own insights and lived experiences. Revati is a proud mixed race woman of a Sri Lankan, Chinese and Scottish background. She was raised by a Lesbian mother and fondly refers to herself as a ‘Gayby Baby’. Revati also has a disability. These multiple minority groups she falls under fuel her passion for an intersectional approach in all her work.

On a national level, Revati has advocated and championed the lives and rights of minority groups. This has involved taking part in numerous events and campaigns such as being a panellist for UNICEF #EndViolenceGlobal Partnerships and Amnesty International Children’s Human Rights Network, as well as giving evidence on the Scottish Elections (Franchise and Representation) Bill. In her role as an SYP convener, Revati has campaigned on issues such as FGM, Disability rights and Anti Semitism.
