Seonaid Stevenson-McCabe is a 30-year-old lawyer and activist. She is a Lecturer in Law at Glasgow Caledonian University, having previously worked at the International Criminal Court and at a Scottish law centre, specialising in the rights of refugee and migrant communities.
Her current work focuses on human rights law; public interest litigation; sexual offences; and law and gender. Seonaid is part of the team which has been researching and celebrating the centenary of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919, which paved the way for women to become lawyers for the first time. Seonaid is passionate about uncovering the achievements of these pioneering women, while also working to ensure a more equal and diverse legal profession today. Seonaid is also the co-founder of RebLaw Scotland, a movement which seeks to use law as a tool for social justice.
