Poppy is currently a high school student at the International School of Aberdeen. Ever since the age of 10, she has been passionate about feminist activism.

At age 10 Poppy was faced with a traumatic event that changed her forever. From this event Poppy learned the realities of the world, that women are treated cruelly and unfairly. She learned that her voice was not valued or listened to by the people who should have listened. She now focuses on taking any opportunity to advocate for women and girls whose voices have also been silenced.

Poppy connected with The Young Women’s Movement joining the Young Women Know group where she regularly attends meetings. Within her school Poppy advocates for proper period care for the female community, ensuring that period products are regularly restocked and that the period products are promoted. Hence, girls feel comfortable in their periods at school.

Poppy does most of her activism through her art. She creates art that focuses on the changes girls face throughout their lives, such as relationships, motherhood, and the change from girl to victim.

Poppy plans to become a lawyer specializing in human rights so she can further advocate for girls and women to have better access to their rights.
