Orlagh is an exceptional young leader who shows dedication, commitment and resilience by showing up to and leading weekly events in our community.  

She has committed herself to helping people of all ages in her community, helping to tackle community wide problems such as social isolation through intergenerational projects and promoting positive mental health. As well as this, Orlagh helps support children and young people by helping to develop their skills such as teamwork and resilience through fun tasks and games each week.  

Clocking up over 1,300 volunteering hours, Orlagh has had a huge impact on those she helps, showing great passion for volunteering and community work. Her contributions have been recognised through many prestigious, high-profile awards. In 2024, Orlagh won the Eric Liddell 100 Award for embodying the values of Passion, Compassion and Integrity, which Eric Liddell himself was remembered for, marking her as someone who uplifts her community day in and day out.  

Orlagh is currently pursuing her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, as well as being a sergeant in the Royal Air Force Air cadets in Inverness, and recently being appointed the role of Lord Lieutenants Cadet for Inverness-shire for 2025/26 in recognition of her leadership and service.  

Despite personal loss – losing her grandfather and cousin to suicide at a young age – Orlagh has moved forward helping others overcome their grief and has striven to promote a positive understanding of mental health, working with key partners such as SAMH, James’ Support Group and Mikeysline where she even featured on a podcast to raise awareness. Orlagh embodies the characteristics of an exceptional young woman and young leader daily, and strives to do the best in everything she does.
