As a High School student on the Isle of Skye, I am aware of the lack of Sexual Health Education in the curriculum. Therefore I am currently working on a project, where I have organised the charity- School of Sex Ed to come into my school and offer Sex Ed interactive workshops and talks to the 13 and 14-year-olds.

As well as this, I am directing a play that deals with Sexism, Homophobia and issues around young people Sexting. This will be shown to the 13 and 14-year-olds as part of preventative and protective education that is needed for young people in schools. I feel that it is of the utmost importance that LGBTQ+ Sexual Health Education is talked about and currently I am in the midst of helping a teacher set up a gay-alliance club to create a safe space where young people can interact with each other and talk about the importance of respect, regardless of your identity and sexuality. I am further interested in organising a women’s group in the south of Skye to help create a safe space where women can support each other, and share their experiences and stories.
