Léa (she/her) is a French Brazilian filmmaker based in Scotland.

She has produced and directed films in South America, Europe, and Asia. Her work focuses on gender violence and human rights, trying to use her camera as a way to fight for what she believes in. In 2019, she directed a BBC documentary, “Spit It Out” about Bee Asha’s recovery from sexual trauma through the power of spoken word and live performance. Thanks to the film’s success, Léa and Bee co-founded The Spit it Out Project, an award-winning organisation dedicated to opening conversations around consent, mental health and healing through creativity. Léa is currently working on a new documentary about Noise Artist Lonely Carp’s fight for trans* rights through music.
