I am a podcaster and writer. Although originally from the central belt I have lived and worked in the Highlands for many years.

I moved up for the mountains, but quickly found there was so much more to the landscape than the spectacular hills, and have been learning as much as I can ever since. Through the Inverness stand-up scene, I met archivist Annie MacDonald; and together we started Stories of Scotland, a podcast where we explore Scottish history, nature, and mythology. As an environmental scientist and avid hiker, I am fascinated by the geology of Scotland and enjoy spreading my rock love via the podcast. I am drawn to the ways that landscape and people are interwoven through lore and the constant evolution of this relationship. Part of this evolution has been our own work, Queer as Folktales, where we retell traditional Scottish folklore through a queer lens. Our aim is to bring age-old stories into the modern day and make them as open and accessible as we can. Queer representation in the Highlands is massively important, and so are the stories we tell.
