Emma McGeough

Emma is the co-founder of PhD Women Scot.
PhDs still tend to be viewed as a male-dominated practice. So, when Emma McGeough co-founded the PhD Women Scot community she was only expecting a handful of members.
At time of writing, the PhD Women’s Group has 396 members, and that’s just in Scotland! Emma and her friend manage the community – which now has a blog and regular writing day meet-ups – all while in the midsts of their own PhD studies.
Each week the blog features an essay from a woman on her PhD journey – the first half of 2019 is booked up already (our director contributed a wee blog about her journey from academia to third sector back in September).
