Dionne is a young adult from a working class background interested in politics, human rights and equality. She has worked with organisations such as Amnesty, YWCA Scotland, Sutton Trust and Elect Her.

She currently volunteers with the Trust Jack Foundation, Young Scot on their Health Panel, Tiny Changes as a Wavemaker, and sits on the core group for the Dovesdale Action Group. She is the Youth Officer for Hamilton SNP and has recently been accepted to be a volunteer first aider with St Andrews Ambulance Service. She was studying Politics and International Relations at Strathclyde University but after her first year decided it wasn’t for her and she now wants to move into the healthcare setting where she hopes to either become a nurse or paramedic. She currently works for Christina McKelvie MSP, is a cleaner at Hairmyres Hospital and will soon be starting with NHS Lanarkshire as a bank HCSW. Her open letter to the Scottish Parliament through YoungScot was featured in the ‘Parliament at 20 book’. Caring for people and their rights is so important to her and what she wants to continue to do throughout her work wherever she is.
