Alisha’s early life experiences, growing up with an abusive father and taking on the role of supporting her separated mother, shaped her resolve to pursue justice and law. Instead of allowing these challenges to hinder her, she used them as motivation to excel academically and make a positive impact in her community.
At the University of Glasgow, Alisha has taken on numerous leadership roles that showcase her dedication and commitment. As a Student Ambassador, she actively participates in campus tours, offering prospective students and their families valuable insights into university life and the legal course. She also serves as a UniBuddy Ambassador, guiding prospective students through their university decision-making process. Additionally, Alisha mentors exchange students through the International Mentorship Scheme, helping them adjust to their new surroundings and thrive in a foreign environment.
Her commitment to social causes extends globally. In India, Alisha volunteered at Gandhi Bhavan, working with the elderly, cancer survivors, and orphans. She also organized fundraisers and awareness campaigns as part of her school’s Community Outreach and Social Skills (COSS) Club, providing palliative care to children in cancer wards.
Passionate about environmental activism, she was elected President of UofG Evergreens, leading initiatives like a beach clean-up that earned a nomination for the Glasgow University Community Volunteering Award. Additionally, as an Academic Events Officer for the Women in Law Society, Alisha organized workshops to empower women in the legal field. Her leadership, resilience, and commitment to justice and advocacy reflect her unwavering drive to create meaningful change.
