Anna Henschel

2019

Anna Henschel

Location: Glasgow

Anna is a PhD candidate at the University of Glasgow in Psychology and Neuroscience. Her research investigates our fascination with robots. For example in her recent studies, she investigated joint movement with a humanoid robot and the distractive power of human and robotic faces. She is deeply passionate about understanding our relationship with new technologies and is taking a brain imaging approach to investigate questions relating to human-robot interaction.

She is a STEM ambassador, part of the Athena SWAN initiative for equality and diversity in higher education and volunteers as an editor and writer for the Glasgow Insight in Science and Technology. As part of the 2019 cohort of Young Women Lead, she contributed to an inquiry into the barriers young women in Scotland face when engaging with sports. Outside the lab she can be found reading, running along the Kelvin canal (or participating in Parkrun UK) and watching the latest movie at the Glasgow Film Theatre.
