We’re The Young Women’s Movement, Scotland’s national organisation for young women and girls’ rights, and we’ve been making change for 100 years.

Join us for a free afternoon of celebration, creative workshops and food, as well as a chance to make friends and share your thoughts to help us re-imagine Scotland for young women and girls.

This event is open to all self-identifying young women and girls, and people of marginalised genders who feel comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of young women and girls, aged 14–25 years old.

Whether you’ve been part of our movement before or if you’re just hearing of us for the first time, we’d love to see you there.

We have a budget for reasonable travel expenses to support attendance, please get in touch to discuss this. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. Food will be provided on the day.

*If you are aged 14-17, please ask a parent/carer/guardian to fill out this form for you. If you are 18 or over, please complete this form yourself. Please note that this registration form also acts as our event consent form. If you need support to complete this form, please contact elena@youngwomenscot.org.

If you are a youth worker who would like to bring a group of young people, please get in touch.

Activities

We’ll have lots of different activities going on, all of which will be free to take part in with all materials provided. Alongside these, we’ll also have goodie bags to takeaway and a quiet space for those who need somewhere to unwind.

Join Afro Dance expert Chinyanta for a fun dance taster class, perfect for beginners and seasoned dancers alike. You’ll venture into the vibrant dance styles of Africa—from the smooth moves of Amapiano to the high-energy grooves of Coupé-Décalé and more.

Artist Maya Rose Edwards will be there to help you create your own aluminium bangle with letter stamps, using simple hand tools. You’ll have your own bangle ready to take home at the end of the day.

Our Research & Policy team will facilitate a collage-making session, exploring the changes you would like to see for young women in Scotland as we head towards the 2026 election. Come along to make your voice heard!

Grab a pair of headphones and join the silent disco, where we’ll be DJing, dancing and taking song requests! This is a chance to unwind, have fun and try out some of the moves you’ve learnt with Chinyanta! We’ll also have a 360 Camera to capture content with.

Mini treatments from The Wellbeing Hub to relax your body and mind, such as seated massage, reflexology, hand massage and reiki will be available. These are 10 minute slots that you can book on the day.

Head along to the marketplace to meet people from 2050 Climate Group, Elect Her, My Academic Family, Protests and Suffragettes, Scottish Youth Parliament, and our joint campaign with NSPCC Scotland, Young Women Know.
