Location: Glasgow

Michelle Jamieson is a psychologist, community activist, and soon-to-be-author from Glasgow.

Stemming from her personal experience of living with a complex mental health condition, and a passion for shedding light on these conditions and living well within one’s community, the cornerstone of her work has been to widen the access for those who have historically been ‘locked-out’ of traditional services (especially the traveler community). In recent years, she has also dedicated herself to highlighting the needs of young carers in Scotland, especially in accessing mental health support and getting into higher education. Her work has dealt with issues such as the impact of austerity, complex trauma, and life outcomes. This has resulted in articles and books, as well as affirmative action in community services. She is currently completing her Ph.D. and is in the process of setting up a new community service in Glasgow. In her spare time, she likes to think of herself as an amateur artist, true crime sleuth, and semi-outdoor person. You can keep up to date with her latest works, books, and services here.
